This aspect of the story that I am going to be looking at first is the plot of the story. Andy could have been saved numerous times from after he was stabbed but the reaction he faced from the people who could have saved him was a heart breaking experience for the reader. She did not hear Andy grunt because she was a little deaf and because the rain was beating on the cans. It was in an alley and only a few people were coming up to help him. It seemed very important to him that he take off the purple jacket. The boy's name was Andy and the name was delicately scripted in black thread on the front of the jacket, just over the heart. Now there was no pride at all.
I will try to show why this short story On The Sidewalk Bleeding is so successful. The jacket was poison to Andy. He could see people passing at the other end of it, and he wondered who the people were, and he wondered if he would ever get to know them, wondered who it was of the Guardians who had stabbed him, who had plunged the knife into his body. He wondered if Laura was dancing, wondered if she had missed him yet. Review the rubric carefully to see how you will be assessed.

The day that we found and confirmed the fingerprints on the dagger, we brought in the Guardian that had killed Andy for questioning. The jacket was as stupid meaningless thing that was robbing him of his life.
She backed away from him, tears springing into her eyes, and then she ran from the alley. Another way the author makes us sympathise for Andy is how the author uses the idea of Andy being isolated from the rest of the world. It was a cold rain, but his body was hot all over, and the rain helped cool him. Cologero witnesses a shooting outside his apartment involving Sonny. But he squirmed and fought and twisted until one arm was free and then the other.
We were in the club, dancing, when Andy left to buy a smoke. The jacket was as stupid meaningless thing that was robbing him of his life. Laura Raleigh, the victim's girlfriend, was completely shocked when she found Andy as he lay on the ground, with drops of blood all over him, and to her surprise, dead. Lots of personal traits about Andy are attainable through his thinking throughout the story. The Royals being written on the jacket causes the couple to rethink the consequences of helping him. People from the neighborhood spoke about how it was not rare for this thing to happen and that he should not of been walking alone at that time of day.
Maybe she had already left the jump and gone home. He could remember how happy he was when the Royals had taken him. According to police officers that arrived on the scene about 45 minutes after the ambush occurred. He walked over to where Andy lay on the ground. Maybe she thought he'd cut out for good. Raleigh mentioned that she suspected something terrible would happen, ever since her boyfriend had joined the Royals.
I'm Andy, he screamed wordlessly, I'm Andy. It also states that he lay bleeding; if he were not hopeless he would have stood up if he could, but he did not. Andy struggles to remove the purple jacket that identifies him as a Royal; the jacket that he once loved to wear he came to loath. It had been sometime before 11. Laura went to look for him and found him viciously wounded in the alley. A member of the gang stabbed Lodge right below his ribs and it had torn a wide gap.
I don't want to die, he thought. He thought of her face, the brown eyes and the jet-black hair, and thinking of her he forgot his pain a little, forgot that blood was rushing from his body. The assailant was tall, dark, and was wearing a gold Guardian jacket. Police would like anyone with any kind of information to contact 69 Division or to leave an anonymous tip for Crime Stoppers. Andy was assaulted because of hatred.
This is important to my theme because there is a lot of love in the plot between the two main characters, Andy and Laura. He has been arrested and sentenced to 40 years in prison. Police would like anyone with any kind of information to contact 69 Division or to leave an anonymous tip for Crime Stoppers. Evan Hunter uses ingenious terminologies to really make us empathise for Andy as he lays in the rain all alone. He had heard the voice saying, 'That's for you Royal! I never turkeyed out of a rumble with the Guardians. According to police officers that arrived on the scene about 45 minutes after the ambush occurred. Upon realizing that he is dying and that he does not want to be identified as just another gang member.
After a few people had walked by he had tried with all of his effort to take his jacket off and roll away from it. He was filled with sadness that his life would be over at sixteen. Andy is angry at everyone for not giving him a chance because of how people identify him. Survival for Andy now seemed so far away. Guys get cut all the time in rumbles. His abdomen was severely damaged.
