Spend a day at beautiful Langland Bay with its iconic beach huts, great surf and sheltered sunbathing and you'll soon see why this is one of the most popular spots on Gower.
Langland might fill up during the day but get down early and you will have the beach to yourself. Enjoy a swim in the ocean or hike the coastal path towards Caswell or back to Mumbles village. Stop in for a coffee and breakfast with a view at one of the cafes or pick your spot on the sand and prepare for a day soaking up the sun.
Langland is one of the Gower's surfing hot spots and is renowned for its variety of breaks, from the gentle point to the heavy left handers. When the surf's not up you can enjoy a variety of other watersports. Take a kayak around the coast or try your hand at SUPing. Fishermen can cast off the rocks for mackerel, bass and a variety of other species. Visit our sister site GowerLive.co.uk for live webcam views and surf reports.
The same shelter from the winds that makes it such a consistent surf break means that sunbathers can usually find a warm spot to soak up the rays. If you'd rather be active then book a tennis court and enjoy a few sets. The courts are located just behind the beach and can be booked from the lifeguard station. Golfers will find the excellent Langland Gold course overlooking the beach to the west.
As lunchtime approaches people light barbeques and the smell of cooking burgers lingers in the air until late into the evening. If you haven't brought your own picnic you can purchase tasty paninis and salads from Surfside Cafe, or enjoy a luxurious lunch or dinner at the excellent Langland Brasserie. There are also two small shops offering snacks and seaside gifts and toys.
Step free access from the road to the beach and two pay and display car parks make this bay location accessible to all. The beach is well facilitated, with outdoor showers, public toilets, St John Ambulance and an Information Centre open during the peak season of May to September. A lifeguard also operates on this beach during this time. Dogs are welcome on this beach from 1st October to 30th April.
